Well done to Haines Watts’ Young Entrepreneurs
As I write, finalists are being selected for the Thames Valley Haines Watts Young Entrepreneur award 2011 taking place this month. What makes this whole event very special this year is the backdrop against which these young people are succeeding, says Jane Gregory of Haines Watts
When you think of the economic turmoil in which this country finds itself – and the huge impact this is having on jobs, university places, property transactions ... it is amazing that we find ourselves with any young entrepreneurs at all, let alone those of such a high calibre.
Throughout this year’s campaign, young people have consistently shown by example that it doesn’t matter what is going on, you can succeed through sheer hard work, determination and innovation.
One of last year’s finalists, Angela Waweru of Jewel Qns, recently wrote an article about the
personality traits needed to ‘be of diamond quality’ and she rightly said that ‘difficult times will define you, but it is never about what you’re going through, but rather how you get through it.’
All of our candidates have sown the first seeds to becoming successful business people and some are already ‘high fliers’. Haines Watts is pleased to be able to support them in their individual enterprises - without them and entrepreneurs nationwide like them, this country would have a bleak future.
