Permaculture Designer Certification with the Permaculture Institute of Australia. Aquaponics is a low maintenance
and productive method of growing fresh herbs and vegetables. This sustainable method of growing plants uses nutrient- rich water from a fish tank or pond. Aquaponics systems are ecosystemic by their nature, meaning they are the result of the symbiotic interaction between fish, plants and bacteria. Vegetables grown in these systems
show greater vigor and are nutrient rich. You will be able to grow up to 5-10 times the amount of vegetables within a given space over time. Aquaponics systems use only 2-5% of the amount of water compared to traditional soil growing methods. Mr. Afonso’s extensive knowledge
