THE AUTHOR:


Felicity is a businesswoman and a former senior BBC journalist and presenter with a passion for regeneration. During her 28 years with the BBC she won national awards for her reporting and gave up broadcasting to become one of the first directors of the Northwest Development Agency.


For ten years she led the team behind The Lowry, securing over £450 million of private sector investment and creating 5,700 new jobs. She is now the Chairman of the Central Salford Urban Regeneration Company, the largest Urban Regeneration Company in the Country.


Felicity has recently led the bid team which won the competition to secure the BBC and acted as Interim Chief Executive of MediaCityUK landing another £ 450 million of private sector investment. MediaCityUK will be a globally significant media hub which will eventually employ 15,500 people.


Honours include being made an honorary fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architecture and the first recipient of the Mayor of Salford’s Citizenship award.


Felicity was awarded the CBE for her services to regeneration in Salford.
