Book a few days either side of the workshop for some chill time for you and your partner, and go explore the location too together, and to absorb the learning's after the workshop, before throwing yourself back into the business on your return home.

Make sure your spouse is comfortable with being on their own for periods through the 5 days workshop schedule, or that there are other activities or trips they could do on their own if they want to.

Don't be afraid to think outside the box or ask questions – both the people presenting and those who attend are very open minded – think of this as a huge opportunity, a melting pot of knowledge you can tap into, and one workshop which can change your life and prospects going forwards, if you want it to.

Go with a sense of purpose – throw yourself into it with vigour, what you put in, you will get back out ten fold. Spouses: We would recom- mend you do go along with your partner, as you will understand more about the market and industry they work within and what they face day to day with their business; you will also be able to network with other partners and hear their experiences, make good friends, be able to reach out to a like minded group of fellow spouses/ partners, creating a special sup- port system.

And if you also work with your photographic partner, you too will learn more by engaging with everyone who attends, be- ing open minded and responsive to new ideas, and also placing a real worth on what your busi- ness creates, on the investment you will then ask clients to make with you, and therefore making a better future for you and your family.

Or you could just go for the vacation… Best points

The VIP presenters are real – they're not setting themselves on a pedestal or unapproachable. Everyone is generous with their giving and learning for the common aim of making the pro- fessional photography industry better and so we all recognise our true value and worth for our creativity and the artwork we generate.

Embrace change and be unique, this industry is go- ing through huge flux at the moment, we all need to up our game in terms of skill and tech- nique, defining our own styles, finishing images and being brand aware.

There is a huge amount of worldwide talent out there, which has not yet been discov- ered. We feel privileged having seen some of that, and are excited to see where our new global journey will be taking us, our photography and our busi- ness professionally. – Greg Daly LMPA
