PRODUCT INNOVATIONS
Formica achieves GREENGUARD Certification
The Formica Group has announced that products from its ten international manufacturing sites have achieved GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification and/or GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification, the premier marks for low-emitting products. Formica Laminate and DecoMetal by Formica Group products have achieved GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification. In this significant announcement, Formica Group has ensured that its products manufactured worldwide have achieved GREENGUARD Certification. Subtle differences in manufacturing process and variations in supply chain often exist from one manufacturing facility to another, which can affect the emissions levels of products manufactured at different locations. This is why it is so significant that Formica Group has tested and certified products from each of its plants. Formica products are now therefore entitled to carry the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified and/or GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certified marks, which signify that products contribute minimally to chemical emissions and help create healthier indoor environments. A one stop galvanising shop
Kent based metal finishing company Medway Galvanising has invested in a purpose built shot blasting facility which completes a winning line up of specialist steel finishing services all under one roof. Medway Galvanising, which began trading some 28 years ago, quickly built up a solid client base and by 1993, was looking to expand still further. It identified huge potential in the fast growing powder coating market and incorporated new plant to complement its successful galvanising operation. This also proved a success with the company now providing its services to more than 1,000 customers. The logical next step was further expansion with investment into a new purpose built shot blasting facility allowing the company to grow into new market sectors and provide the most extensive metal finishing services in the South East. By providing shot blasting services up to standard profile SA3, the new facility adds further value to Medway Galvanising’s offering to form a one stop shop for a customer’s steel finishing needs. Now, the company can galvanise, powder coat, strip and shot blast all architectural and structural steel. For more information 01795 479489, email

A step beyond simple access control
Paxton has re-launched Net2 software to offer customers a security system that moves beyond simple access control. Net2 Pro brings customers features they may not expect to see in standard access control. Paxton’s new software not only secures premises, manages staff and visitor access and generates reports, it can improve the smooth running of a building. Energy saving features in Net2 Pro mean that customers can set their system to switch off utilities automatically when the building is empty, saving them money on energy bills. HR processes can be made a lot smoother with features that monitor staff hours, sick days and holidays throughout the year. Net2 Pro software even has a card designer application to allow customers to create their own designs for their access cards. This means they can enhance company branding by adding their logo and combine an access card and an ID card in one. This is a great feature that helps a company to look professional and give a really corporate image. Net2 also integrates with intruder alarms, fire alarms and CCTV
systems.Managers can generate an automatic report when an alarm goes off, to monitor security from one central place. By integrating their Net2 access system and CCTV system, customers can dispense with the need for security guards, increasing the safety of their building and
reducing wage costs. The security lockdown feature in the software is ideal for buildings or sensitive sites that need to secure their premises in the event of an emergency. Net2 is
designed to make the management of any building incredibly easy. Adding users to the access control system and managing reports can be done without the need for specialist technical knowledge. User-friendly and simple; the software can be used by anyone to improve the smooth management of their building. Formore information
