second counterfeit, only traces of sibutramine can be found, which implies that counterfeiters would use taurine in complement when running out of sibutramine. The composition of these specimens was confirmed by the combination of infrared spectroscopy and Gas Chromatography coupled with Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).
