Green-fingered Lyn’s prize wins A SNODLAND woman has had a double success in the Russet Res idents Federation annual garden competition. Lyn George, who lives in Nevill Road, took up gardening just two
years ago, after she was made redundant. Now she has won firs prizes in the best back garden and hanging baskets categories. There weremany entries in all the categories in the competition and
Lyn received her voucher prizes from Terry Shead, proprietor o Brookside Garden Centre, East Peckham, at a presentation evening in Borough Green village hall. “I was told how to take cuttings by both my neighbour and my fa
ther-in-law, Frank, and partner, Carol,” said Lyn. “The Russet Homesmagazine came round and a friend said I ough
to enter the gardening competition, so I filled the form in. “I grew some plants from seed and I have been de-seeding for nex
year and have bought myself a little greenhouse. I have also bough from boot fairs and family and friends gave me cuttings. “I really enjoy it and find it very therapeutic. I will be certainly be try ing again next year,” Lyn added.
