UAS Zone a key feature at Farnborough 2012
SAE’s AeroTech heads overseas
SAE International has announced that its 2011 AeroTech Congress & Exhibition will take place from 18-21 October in Toulouse, France, at the Centre de Congrès Pierre Baudis Toulouse. Sponsored by Airbus, the three-day convention features technological seminars ranging from materials and structures to propulsion to safety. “AeroTech is one of the world’s elite aerospace events where
the aerospace community prepares to meet the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow,” said SAE International’s aerospace technical development manager, Frank Bokulich. Airbus’ CEO, Thomas Enders will deliver the keynote address
at the opening plenary session on Tuesday 18th at 8:30 am. The 2011 AeroTech will feature three tours of Airbus facilities on Monday 17th covering a guided tour of the A380 final assembly line, a guided panoramic bus tour of the A320, A330/A240 and A350 final assembly lines and a look at Airbus’ test equipment Iron Bird and simulators. A premier contract
According to Premier Deep Hole Drilling, its growing reputation for specialised deep hole drilling, gun drilling and honing services has resulted in a new contract to supply actuators for the Bombardier CSeries regional aircraft programme. “We have invested a vast amount of time and committed to a substantial level of capital investment for equipment to support programmes such as the CSeries,” stated Premier’s managing director, Stuart Grant. “It is good to see our efforts recognised
by major suppliers in the industry.”

Farnborough International Airshow organiser Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) has announced its UAS Zone will return at the forthcoming show in 2012. AUVSI, the world’s largest organisation exclusively dedicated to advancing unmanned systems will be an Exclusive Association Partner and the zone itself will be rebranded as the ‘Unmanned Systems Showcase’. FIL is expanding the zone for next year’s show to offer
greater opportunities to companies who wish to take advantage of more targeted exhibiting and specially priced, inclusive packages will be available to exhibitors in the Zone to maximise value. FIL Events & Exhibitions director, Amanda Stainer, stated:

LMS announces major keynote speakers
LMS International has announced the 2011 LMS European Aerospace Conference to be held at the Hotel Radisson BLU in Toulouse, France on the 5-6 of October.
