PHILIPS MEDIASUITE Philips, the leading provider of TV solutions to the hospitality industry, has launched MediaSuite – a new internet enabled TV range allowing guests to access a world of online entertainment and information from the comfort of their hotel room. The launch is supported by research indicating travellers are attracted to hotels offering interactive TV services. More than half (55%) of respondents in a pan-European survey of 6,767 travellers said that they would chose a hotel offering an internet enabled TV service over one which does not. The most appealing services to access via the internet were found to be catch-up TV (39%), news (17%) and weather (11%). In terms of hospitality specific services, city information (39%) is most in demand, followed concierge services (16%) and airport information (10%).
