MY PDP FIRST STEPS – GETTING STARTED


There are two key components to My PDP: • My Portfolio – where you add text, images, links and other content to an ePortfolio which you can share with others – found under the My Portfolio tab


• The My PDP cycle – follow the advice and suggestions to help you add the best possible content to the pages in your Portfolio – found under the Getting Started tab.


You will be moving between these two tabs frequently, so it is a good idea to have them both open as windows, as you work.


Accessing your PDP Portfolio


1. Log into My Dundee and click on the My PDP tab. 2. Click on My Portfolio. A list of your current portfolios should now be displayed. (You may see more than one portfolio listed.)


3. Click on the portfolio title My PDP Portfolio. This will open your portfolio. The grey menu down the right-hand side provides links to the various activities you need to complete.


Editing your PDP Portfolio 1. Select 1. Introduction from the grey right-hand menu. 2. Click Edit at the top.


3. You are now provided with an introductory template. Enter your name in the space provided. Suggested text for your introduction is also provided - however, feel free to change this to your own message about yourself.


5. Click Save and Exit at the bottom of the text box.


You may also wish to include a photograph of yourself here. Instructions on how to do this are provided under the Help, Tips & Tricks section of the resource.


Next Steps – Starting Personal Development Planning You can now add your personalised details, text and links to any of the pages contained under Site Navigation in My PDP Portfolio, by selecting pages from the grey right hand menu and clicking Edit, as described above.


To help you add the best possible content to the pages in your PDP Portfolio. follow the advice given in About Me, Opportunities, Action Planning and CV Building (found under the Getting Started tab).


KEY POINT: Remember to click Save regularly


KEY POINT: Your School may have specific instructions on how to get started. They may have designed these to fit in with a particular module or


programme. You should follow their instructions, if so. You will find information in My School on the homepage of My PDP.


The My PDP resource, completed templates and ePortfolios can be viewed and edited on both PCs and Macs.


4. The toolbars along the top of the textbox allow you to format text, add weblinks, and upload images or documents.
