WELCOME TO MY PDP PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANNING
The University of Dundee prides itself on the learning opportunities it offers to its students. Allied to these is the support we provide in order to help you to prepare for employment after you leave university. Our successes in this field owe much to the excellence of our degree programmes, the enthusiasm and professionalism of our lecturers, the high quality of our student support services and the way we have embraced modern approaches to teaching, such as eLearning. The University’s personal development planning (PDP) scheme typifies our approach. The scheme is supported by the My PDP online resource, which is the product of collaboration between the Careers Service, the Library and Learning Centre, Schools and others. The design process has taken account of feedback from students, academics and support staff. It makes use of state-of-the-art ePortfolios offered via My Dundee, the University’s student eLearning portal, and the activities involved can easily be integrated with your coursework.
Getting the most from My PDP will require a significant input from you. However, the bene fits will be worth the effort. Engagement with the PDP process will help you decide on your personal and career goals and focus your approach to academic studies and extracurricular activities. You will be able to share your portfolio(s) online with tutors, advisors and potential employers. We hope that My PDP will give you an edge in the competitive jobs market, once you gain your qualification.
We commend the scheme to you and suggest you make the most of this opportunity.
