ALLIANZ MUSICAL INSURANCE PROVIDING A PLATFORM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION

At Allianz Musical Insurance we are avid supporters of musicians and believe it’s important to give upcoming acts an avenue to get the recognition they deserve.

As the largest musical insurer in the UK, our role is to make sure you’re onstage to do what you do best. But we’re not just about protecting your instruments if they are lost, stolen or broken; we’re also devoted to developing the UK’s musicians of the future.

We work closely with a number of musical organisations, who focus on improving the range of opportunities available to young people interested in music. These organisations include Musicians’ Union, the International Guitar Foundation and the Music for Youth’s National Festival.

When it comes to insuring your instruments we are specialists – we understand the music industry and your specific needs. Our PowerPlay policy is specifically designed to cover all forms of ‘powered’ instruments, from electric guitars to synthesizers and digital production tools, as well as drum kits, making it the perfect cover for individual musicians, bands or DJs.

HOLOBEAMS & BROKEN MACHINES

The project of Glasgow-based producer Ian Foxwell, Holobeams & Broken Machines ebbs with a sense of drama. Drifting synths spread outwards, tendril–like, in orchestral sweeps. The disparate textures sees each track embracing many of the different atmospheric sides of electronica and keeps the ambience to the sidelines in favour of driven, repetitive, engrossing soundscapes – all delivered within four minutes. Excellent.

ROTTEN TROPICS

Usually, anything described as industrial post-punk would have me reaching for my Throbbing Gristle records as a palette cleanser. However Rotten Tropics are far more friendly than those Manchester sonic-terrorists. Nevertheless, they pipe ambient, swirling melodics across rigid industrial beats. Vocals are hushed, whispering or spoken as if emerging from fog. There are cries of anguish, there are gentler passages of instrumental sounds. Their EP The Dross, released last month, perfectly encapsulates what they’re about!
