Waltzing the night away at prom


Year 11 students at Looe Community School held their leavers’ prom recently at the Hannafore Point Hotel.


The girls wore an impressive and colourful selection of dresses and the boys colour co-ordinated their ties.


Prom King & Queen Tom Dunn & Emily Dingle Jade, Sophie, Loura and Jess.


Miss Wood, learning co-ordinator for Year 11, said: ‘Although it poured with rain, the students turned in a variety of vehicles, including a tractor and ice cream van, making their arrivals just as spectacular as in previous years.


‘This year for the first time the students enjoyed a sit down three-course meal and they learned to waltz for the evening in their last few PE lessons.


‘Millie Dingle and Tom Dunn were crowned Prom King and Queen for the best waltz and were presented with handmade crowns. I was very proud of them all.’


More than 120 students and staff attended the evening which was rounded off with a disco.
