MTLA’s
Trial Lawyer Referral Service Another Valuable Member Benefit from the
MARYLAND TRIAL LAWYERS ASSOCIATION
In September of 2002, MTLA started the Trial Lawyer Referral Service. It now serves
the needs of 125 MTLA members. MTLA receives approximately 40 calls per week from all jurisdictions in the state. Consumers frequently request legal assistance for personal injury matters, family law issues, consumer complaints, as well criminal law, workers comp and employment law matters.
MTLA has a staff person screen all calls and members can sign up to receive referrals in 5 subject matter areas. The “Trial Lawyer Referral Service” has placed Lawyer Referral advertising in Yellow Books all around the state and the Service provides a toll free number for consumers to call.
Regular and subscribing members may join the Trial Lawyer Referral Service (“TLRS”) at the very reasonable cost of $150.00 per year. Members of the President’s Club are entitled to discounts. The Membership fee for Eagles is FREE, for Founders $50 per year; for Contributors $100.00 per year and for Supporters the TLRS fee is $125.00 per year.
The Trial Lawyer Referral Service is the only truly Maryland statewide referral service sponsored, run and operated by a bar association. All MTLA members are encouraged to join the Trial Lawyer Referral Service and/or to refer conflict of interest and other matters they cannot handle to the TLRS. To receive an application to join the Trial Lawyer Referral Service, e-mail the Association headquarters at
mtla@mdtriallawyers.com. You can also FAX a request for an application to 410-783-5981 or register on-line on our improved website:
