10th this year with our truck and a 30-ſt 5th wheel. On the 12th about 2:30 p.m. we came to Wells and I decided to fuel up and my wife wanted to get some groceries. Stopping at the fl ashing light and 4-way stop I noticed a Shell service station that was only three or four hundred feet off the highway. Looked like an easy place to access so I decided to go there. As I was pulling up to the diesel pump
to fuel a fellow came from the service station direction at a brisk pace and stood by the pump waiting for me. I told him I would like it fi lled and asked if I was far enough ahead with my trailer to leave room for a vehicle to get by at the back. He said, “You’re fi ne” and proceeded to fuel my truck. I paid him in cash for the
fuel and told him I would like a receipt. My wife had gone to a small store close by and as I walk with diffi culty because of a back injury I thought him bringing me the receipt would save me having to go get it. He then mentioned to me that when I
pulled up he heard a clicking noise coming from my trailer. I mentioned that I had applied the brakes a bit as I pulled up and that sometimes they would make a noise as they released. “No, it was not the brakes,” was his reply. Soon a diff erent fellow showed up and
gave me my receipt. He then walked back to the trailer wheels on the driver’s side and while standing about fi ve feet from the trailer he looked towards the wheels, not stooping or getting down for a closer look. He then walked back to me and said, “Your bolts that hold your springs in are loose.” He then gave his opinion of all the disasters that could await me if this was not fi xed now. “Pull up to the garage as we will have to
pull your wheels to fi x your problem.” He then leſt towards the garage. I got
a ball pien hammer from my toolbox and went to the trailer and gave each of the bolts I could access a sharp blow. Each time I heard a sharp metallic ring
