Paddington, Snowman, The Architect, El Dorado. I had a blast!” Betsy is full of surprises and is an avid gardener, a closet ballerina and played guitar for 15 years! “I started dancing in high school and have kept it up on and off all these years. I actually performed with the State Street Ballet Company and got a paycheck so I guess that makes me a professional!” Keeping her life well balanced is her husband, John Locke,
who has owned/operated restaurants all of their married life (30 years) and currently manages Cold Spring Tavern which specializes in wild game! Her son, Woody, now 22, is in 3 bands and going on his 4th tour this summer with his punk/ folk band! Her brother is a musician and his current band, the Bob Woods Trio, is country/rockabilly. She loves all kinds of music, influenced by her father who played the piano pro- fusely with Gershwin, Debussy, Chopin, boogie woogie. In her spare time she plays the guitar for children’s parties. Asked what we don’t know about her, she smiles and breaks into laughter. “I have a 42 yr old donkey that I love. I have
actually given a riding lesson all in titles of Beatles' songs. I am a bird watcher and such a Mockingbird fanatic that I have been known to ride into standards while looking for their perch. AND I have fallen out of a tree trying to save baby Towhees from my cat. Having fun at the hotels traveling, I scared Tricia Homan’s dog so she won't jump from bed to bed anymore because I tried to make the "open water" (space between beds) too wide!” “As though I have nothing else to do, I write a bit of poetry
and have started 2 books. Oh yeah, I do yoga to try to bal- ance it all!” She says with a charming giggle reminiscent of the child qualities and wonderment so much a part of her persona.
chosen “training” as their living, the best part of the horse business is the horses! And then the teaching! “I LOVE to give info and see a student apply it and improve as a result!”
