those on ops over Libya do not receive OA. Answering a question in the House, Andrew
Robathan MP said: “OA is to recognise the significantly increased and enduring nature of the danger... Libya is not considered as such at this time”.

periods of deployment of someone they love can be very unsettling, particularly with regular media reports. RAF Community Support has helped create a Deployment Journal in the hope it will encourage teenagers to express their thoughts and help them through. A Head Start for Bereaved Service Children
he Coalition Government undertook to provide university
and further education scholarships for children of personnel killed on active duty since 1990. This scheme has now been launched.
Current Attitudes of the Serving RAF

he MoD uses the Continuous Attitude Survey to collect information on the attitudes of serving personnel. Latest
results show RAF personnel are more satisfied with: x-factor, JPA, periods away and quality and cost of accommodation. Personnel were less happy with allowances and officers considered morale to be low.
Government Consultation on Special Educational Needs and Disability
he Directorate of Children and
Young People has the Defence-wide responsibility for ensuring all Service children and young people have the best opportunities to fulfil their potential. A Government Green Paper entitled ‘Support and Aspiration: a New Approach to Special Educational Needs and Disability’ has been issued.
