The Travel Foundation is an independent charity that operates internationally to help the travel industry develop and deliver sustainable tourism, creating new local economic opportunities, protecting the environment and promoting local culture.


We are the leading resource for the travel industry on sustainability, providing training and guidelines to help travel companies understand, manage and take effective, practical action. We currently run over 30 projects in 16 destinations around the world, showcasing best practice in efforts which improve the well-being of destination communities, protect the environment, and enrich the tourism experience now and into the future.


Our vision is of a world where tourism provides greatest benefit and opportunities for people and the environment in destination countries.
