For Susan Aglionby at The Croft, farming organically is a matter of belief, ”It’s all about sustainability. I want to leave the land in better health than when I aquired it”. Su- san grows her own organic feed and only buys in a small amount of feed for the goslings she rears. Susan believes that the key to sustainable organic production lies in being small. ”Small is beautiful”, says Susan, ”I’m making money, only a little, but I’m not losing any.” 6
