The farm shop and tea room at Shinmura Farm As food producers we are very
aware of the relationship between happy and healthy animals eating a natural diet and amazing tasting food. Shinmura-san sells his clotted cream and ‘milk jam’ (a lovely runny sweet jam for waffles and scones) throughout Japan. I can honestly say that the cream was the best I have tasted; whole and un-treated, it really reflected the happy who- lesome lifestyle of his cows. We know our Herdwick and Belted Galloway meats are so incredibly
tasty because of their mixed ‘wild’ diet and longer life span. Shinmura-san and I decided that we wanted to keep talking and have created a joint blog. Each entry is translated into both languages and we really hope people will join in the conversation. Feel free to ask questions and provide information to stimulate discussion about environmentally friendly farming. The blog is at http://two-
