IBRANT VOICES IS A MEDIA ARTS PROGRAM RUN BY THE ST. ALBAN’S BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB IN TORONTO. From October 13th- 20th, 2010, our group travelled to

Kingston, Jamaica to be part of the grassroots arts festival “Manifesto Jamaica”, and to document our experience through video and photography. “Manifesto Jamaica” is a sister organization to

“Manifesto Toronto.” Both festivals work to empower youth through arts and culture. This year, artists from Toronto and Kingston collaborated in a way that provided a truly inspirational experience for all of the participants. We spread messages of love and unity and called out for an end to government corruption, crime and violence. We shared ideas and creativity through workshops in art forms such as fashion, film and dance. The Jamaican artists astounded us with their

passion and talent through musical, dance and poetry performances. One of the most beautiful examples of cross-cultural collaboration occurred during a performance called Omega Vibrations.
