MULTI-MILLION selling Mike + The Mechanics will return in 2011 with a brand new album, UK tour and a new line-up having signed a new record deal with Sony Music label Arista. The legendary band will perform live at Plymouth Pavilions on Sunday 15th May 2011 as part of a 22 date ‘Hit The Road Tour 2011’. Following a six-year hiatus and a massive reunion world tour with Genesis, Mike Rutherford has joined forces with one of the UK’s most successful R&B acts Andrew Roachford and Canadian born actor and singer Tim Howar for a new generation of Mike + The Mechanics. The result is a stunning new and refreshing album entitled ‘The Road’ that will be released in April 2011. Formed in 1984, Mike + The Mechanics
the massive worldwide hit single The Living Years. The ‘Hit The Road Tour 2011’ will bring all these hits and more back to life alongside the debut live performances of new tracks from ‘The Road’.

LODESTONE Border Morris are seeking keen and able musicians to bolster their band membership.
If you enjoy playing the melodeon or accordion, or maybe have a guitar ready to strum or are even a budding Seth Lakeman with a fiddle, then Lodestone Border Morris would love to hear from you.
‘The tunes we use for the dances are a good mix of traditional folk and old time music hall numbers’, said dance foreman Stephen Newland. ‘It is an exciting way to practise your musicianship.
‘If you can carry your instrument from one pub to another, then it’s in. If you swear you can carry your double bass down the street, then we’ll take you at your word! Melodeon players are especially welcome, but as Border Morris is very diverse when it comes to music if you can play anything from recorder to trombone and we’ll be delighted to have you on
board.’
