Green Conscience is a


retail showroom that features environmentally responsible, non-toxic and eco-friendly interior finishes and organic lawn and garden products. We carry FSC certified wood flooring, cork and Marmoleum f looring, wool carpeting, American Clay, non-toxic paint and stains, counter tops made with recycled and other sustainable materials, and formaldehyde-free kitchen cabinetry. We also have available an all-natural organic latex mattresses. In the spring season, we offer organic lawn fertilizer, composters, and garden supplies. Green Conscience is a one-


stop shop that makes it easy for people to select non-toxic materials for their home or business renovation projects. Our knowledgeable staff is here to guide, help with selecting finishes and to answer any questions about the products.


History Karen Totino opened Green


Conscience in June 2009 as an expansion of her organic lawn care business that she ran successfully for four years. Her goal was to effect change in a greater way by offering environmentally conscious consumers a larger selection of products that would make a difference not only in their outdoor environment but also at home. She partnered with Sophie Castro in the summer of 2010 and together they are promoting the use of environmentally safe products in the community.

New this year, we are able to offer a beautiful selection of kitchen cabinets that do not contain urea-formaldehyde and have been stained or painted with water-based finishes. Many people are now inquiring about healthy mattresses, and our organic beds and pillows are definitely on top of the list. Another popular product is American clay, an earthy, warm plaster that is one of the greenest wall covering options you can find on the market.


New Green Products Eco Timber has developed a


poplar wood floor made with 100% postindustrial scraps from the furniture industry. In a proprietary process, the material is combined with a resin and high compression to make a strandwoven floor; it is exquisite, innovative and completely green - one of our favorite products!
