Editor Editor Dear Reader

February’s diary was dominated by the second Norwich Dragon Festival. The fortnight of events and activities celebrating the mystical beast’s role in our fine city’s heritage was, once again, a triumph - enjoyed by all. Credit must go to Norwich HEART and all the businesses that took part for making the festival such a great success.

In March, I look forward with great anticipation to Cinema City’s 3D screening of George Bizet’s Carmen, co-produced by The Royal Opera House. Bizet’s indelible magnum opus is one of love, passion, jealousy and betrayal - a must see for anyone with an ardor for the opera.

May I also urge you (if you haven’t already) to take in Norwich Castle’s Restless Times exhibition. Exploring the development of British art between 1914 and 1945 and the creativity and inspiration drawn from such a momentous period in the country’s history, there are some truly inspirational works to be found.

Featured inside this month’s edition of Fine City Magazine: the first in our series on the majestic mediaeval churches of Norwich; a tour of the city’s multitude of vaulted undercrofts; a focus on the celebrated local architect George Skipper and much, much more.

Enjoy...
