Using puppetry, light and an innovative soundscape, The Last Miner is an immersive, original tale remembering an amazing life amongst the coal dust.

THE ACOUSTIC HEARTBEAT OF THE STRAWBS 2009 marked the 40th anniversary of the release of the first Strawbs album on


A&M Records. Acoustic Strawbs are David Cousins, Dave Lambert, and Chas Cronk, the front-line of the classic 1970s line-up of Britain’s most successful international folk-rock band, and who tour regularly as Acoustic Strawbs. In the early 1970s Strawbs scored chart success in Britain with huge albums such as Grave New World and Bursting at the Seams. From the mid-1970s the group concentrated their attention on the United States and Canada where their albums, including the classics Hero and Heroine and Ghosts, spent over fifty-two weeks on the Billboard charts. Strawbs have toured with the likes of Santana, Peter Frampton, The Eagles, REO Speedwagon, Joe Walsh, Blue Oyster Cult, King Crimson and Frank Zappa. www.strawbsweb.co.uk

TOM COURTENAY PRETENDING TO BE ME His own dramatised compilation from the letters, articles and poems of PHILIP LARKIN, the poet and Hull University librarian. Pretending to be me was first produced at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2002 and transferred to the West End’s Comedy Theatre in 2003.
