POOL HOUSE
Pool House is located in the small crofting hamlet of Poolewe and has a commanding position both at the head of Loch Ewe, alongside the River Ewe and overlooking the famous sub-tropical Inverewe garden. The exterior of this typical Scottish coastal dwelling has white washed walls and Ballahulish slate roof. Inside this family home however lies a different story…
Pool House is not a conventional hotel but a private family home run by the Harrisons who have welcomed guests to Poolewe
for twenty years. The accommodation in the house comprises dining and drawing room, billiard and whisky room and family library. There are five suites and an intimate “Boathouse” hideaway in the grounds. Each suite is different, but all are lavishly decorated and filled with antique furniture, paintings and porcelain. All have sea and river views, some have balconies or patios, hot tubs or working coal fires for the cooler months.
In true country house tradition, the dining room is at the heart of our home. A set dinner is available each evening or a platter of
locally caught seafood and shellfish is available by prior arrangement. There is also a delightful barbecue house for all al fresco dining overlooking the bay for parties of six or more.
Local activities include marine cruises, sailing trips, falconry, sea angling, guided walks and a 9 hole links course overlooking the Isle of Skye. For the less energetic, visits can be made to gardens, craft shops, museums, beaches, waterfalls or a nearby perfume studio.
