Built by one of Scotland’s foremost architects almost 200 years ago this Georgian Mansion sits in 20 acres of manicured gardens, lawns, trout lake and woodland. This small but elegant house was built on the ruins of a tower dating back to the 1400’s when it was mentioned in the court circulars of Mary Queen of Scots. Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the Castle and Whisky trails, it is surrounded by antiquities from great standing stones to the mysteries of Loch Ness.
There are 30 golf courses within an hour’s drive plus two local championship courses. The boundless golden sands and bottlenose Dolphins of the Moray coast are on the doorstep and the grandeur of the Cairngorm National Park less than thirty minutes away. Robbie Burns once said “In heaven itself I’ll ask no more than just a highland welcome”.
Boath House was recently voted National AA Hotel of the Year 2010/2011 for its superlative service and the candlelit restaurant (acknowledged as one of the very best in Scotland) is awarded a Michelin Star and 4 AA Rosettes. Much of the produce is either sourced locally or from our own organic kitchen garden.
A small family run business with very high levels of service and attention to detail. The house also offers an Ayurvedic treatment room and a large collection of Scottish Contemporary art much of which can be purchased. The library now hosts a small and intimate Whisky snug for sampling a selection of malts along with all the information required to enjoy your Highland sojourn.
