New HE-VA folding grass roller for farm use lower cost and simpler design
In response to farmer demand for a folding grass roller, Opico has introduced a simpler and lower cost model of its original HE- VA grass roller.
The new 'farmer' version of the HE-VA Grass Roller has a smaller diameter tube - 600mm rather than the 710mm of the original model, which is preferred by contractors. It has a working width
of 6.3 metres (20ft), and incorporates HE-VA's tried and tested Special Active Transfer (SAT) weight distribution system. This ensures even pressure across the whole working width when rolling. A three-section tip folding design allows each section to float independently, while centre pivots on each section ensure ground contours are followed.
Water ballasting significantly increases the working weight of the Grass Roller. However, the tractor hp requirement is surprisingly
low due to the 600mm diameter roller and 60mm axles that ensure low rolling resistance. Getting from field to field speedily is important, so the HE-VA Grass Roller can be quickly folded to a transport width of 2.5m from the tractor seat, using two double acting hydraulic services.
