Polaris has announced the appointments of Ben Murray and Steve Canner as DSM’s (District Sales Managers). Ben has been with Polaris since it was first set up as a UK subsidiary, having joined from a product sales background with the previous distributor. As Service Manager he was responsible for setting up and running the service side of Polaris Britain over the past eight years. His strengths are in his product knowledge and the strong working relationships built up with dealers over the years. Attributes he can apply as DSM covering the West of the country, from Cheshire and Staffordshire through the Midlands to Wales, Dorset and the South West. Steve Canner's technical background developed firstly from growing up on a farm, followed by his apprenticeship as a technician with an agricultural dealership. He joins the company from a Polaris dealer where he spent several years in commercial sales. His technical knowledge is matched by his enthusiasm for the sector, with the opportunity to help Polaris to grow as DSM for the East up to Yorkshire and across to Lancashire and Merseyside. Phil Everett, Country Manager says: “We're pleased to be adding to Polaris the strengths of two DSMs who can make a positive contribution to the rapid growth and dealer expansion the company is currently experiencing in the UK.” He also points out that Polaris is increasing its number of area managers at a time others are reducing theirs. The chipper can handle materials up to 150mm in diameter or sheet materials 150mm wide x 60mm thick, making for easy disposal of branches, trunks, brash and redundant timber, such as poles and planks. In addition to Landforce, the company is the sole UK distributor of Laski machinery - comprising towed and tracked wood chippers through to self-propelled and pedestrian stump grinders, which have been added to the website. All models are fully described and these will be joined shortly by the range of Laski amenity and landscape equipment.
