■ THE BIG RACE Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Sunday November 14, BBC1

THE culmination of the most exciting and closely-contested Formula One season in years sees the F1 paddock head to the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

After a season of spectacular tumbles, tirades and team orders all eyes will be on leading teams Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren to see what they can pull out in the last race of 2010. At the time of writing, last year’s World Champion, Englishman Jenson Button, looked to be out of the running for this year’s title after a disastrous result in South Korea, but teammate and fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton was still in the fi ght. Who will take the crown of 2010 Formula One World Champion?

First world bout comes to 3D  

LICENSEES equipped with the latest satellite TV technology can give sports fans a treat this weekend. For the fi rst ever world title

fi ght to be shown in 3D is coming to Sky Box Offi ce on Saturday night, with the all- British heavyweight contest between reigning champion David Haye and Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison. It’s the fi rst time two Brits will go toe to toe for a world belt since Lennox Lewis fought Frank Bruno at Cardiff Arms Park in 1993. The bout for the WBA World Title takes place at Manchester’s MEN Arena, and operators can screen the action for a one-off fee of £195.

Sky boxing expert and former world lightweight champion Jim Watt said the clash is “a fi ght that captures the imagination of the whole country”.

“David Haye is one of the most exciting boxers in the world and has the speed and power to rule the heayweight division, but he cannot underestimate Audley Harrison,” he said. “You only have to look at Harrison’s knockout win over Michael Sprott to see what he is capable of. Anything can happen in the heavyweight division, and that’s what makes this such an intriguing fi ght.”

Former Olympic champ Harrison claims it’s his “destiny” to win a world title.

In other sporting highlights this fortnight, Arsenal take on Spurs in the north London, Premier League derby at lunchtime on November 20.
