Making this magazine has had it’s fair share of ups and downs – first dreamt up in the Summer of 2010 on a whim, (‘I’ve always wanted to work on a magazine, why not make my own?’) I wasn’t really aware of what I was letting myself in for. At all. Having dropped out of university in June, and suddenly been thrown into a world of new responsibility, I felt a little like my creativity had been sucked away. Work- ing on WOLF was a way to cure that, to immerse myself in the work of others and to continually keep learning.

WOLF is a humble publication and a humble team (just the lone wolf) with values based on simplicity – both in design and content – and tradition. We love people – we love their quirks, their creativity and their likeability. We are about the per- sonality behind the people whose work you love, the souls behind the somebodies and the fun in folk – driven by a love of people and a fascination with what inspires us to create and dream.


Think of us more as a reference, or a resource, rather than another topical arts magazine. We want to be opened at any time, in any place, and still be relevant.


What you have in your hands now, is just a sample of what we are about – a bite size chunk produced to gauge opinion before our full debut issue launch in July. It may have taken a long time to get even this far - and it is far from perfect - but I hope that at least one person who flicks through the pages of WOLF takes some- thing good away from it.
