Ticket sales rocket for Beauty and Beast production
This year’s Hazlitt panto, Beauty and the Beast, has proved a huge hit with audiences.
The Hazlitt Theatre is celebrating its best Christmas season ever after putting on the classic fairytale as its production for 2010.
Theatre Manager, Mandy Hare, said: “Ticket sales went through the roof. We have sold 90 per cent since the panto opened on December 4.”
The panto pulled in lead stars - Melissa Suffield from EastEnders who plays teen Lucy Beale, Ben Freeman who is famed for his role as Scott Windsor in Emmerdale and Danielle McCormack from children’s show My Parents are Aliens. It also featured a live band and full supporting cast.
The Hazlitt Youth Theatre’s Christmas show, The Grinch’s Tale, also played to packed audiences with 78% of tickets sold.
