BIG THINGS ARE COMING?
Well Goodbye 2010—don’t let the door kick you in the ass! I am very excited about the New Year. There is talk of two very different possibilities awaiting our planet over the course of the next year or two. There are those who say the world is about to un- dergo a radical metaphysical transformation and then there are those who think Earth might implode in 2012... Okay, so let’s look at both scenarios; let’s just say those naysayers were right. This is
it, this will be our last New Year’s Eve—our last year on earth. What would we do differ- ent? Would we live life to the fullest? Stop wasting time on the ignorant and surround ourselves with the enlightened? Try new things? Maybe even become better people? That sounds pretty good actually. How will we celebrate our last NYE?? We might de- cide to try a new tradition beside the usual drunken kiss at midnight. In Mexico, people wear colorful underwear on the New Year’s Eve. Those who want to find love wear red underwear; those who seek luck wear yellow. This tradition is very similar to the one in Bolivia, but this time it’s important when the underwear is changed. People in Bolivia need to buy a yellow underwear piece and wait for midnight. When it comes, they run to a place, change and believe that their luck will be altered. In the Chilean city of Talca, people participate in a mass on New Year’s Eve. When it’s
over, they all go to the graveyard, set up their chairs and wait for the New Year with the deceased. Hmm, on second thought, let’s just stick with the colored panties... If it were our last NYE we might drink a little less in order to really remember every moment. We would probably make bigger goals for the next year; like make sure we talked with those who we haven’t spoken to in so long, go see the Everglades, chew
“I’m into big things happening. Are we talking BIG as in ‘I’m getting a raise’ or BIG as in ‘climate harmony’ or BIG like ‘gay adoption becomes legal?’”
slower, climax quicker, buy name brand food items?? That all sounds pretty great, no? Then there are those who believe 2011 is going to be a very good year. I’ve been hear- ing this from numerologists, psychics, astronomers, etc. They are all saying BIG things are going to happen in 2012, so 2011 is the lead-up—the build-up to these BIG things that may happen. Okay then, fantastic, I’m into big things happening. Are we talking BIG as in “I’m getting a raise” or BIG as in “climate harmony” or BIG like “gay adoption becomes legal?” Notice no one ever tells you what BIG is. That way, if the nation gets attacked or even if you just get a new dog, either way they can always say, “See? I told you. BIG things. I knew it.” Let’s just say they are right, though. Let’s say the planets are going to be in alignment starting this year. If we knew this for a fact, what would we do different? Would we relax a little more, take a little more time with the things that deserve priority in our life? Would we attack problems with confidence, knowing the Universe is on our side? If this is the case, then we should just always live as if that were true, because in essence it is, yes? The planets must be in alignment right now or Earth would spin out into orbit, the
sun wouldn’t come up when it was supposed to, seasons wouldn’t change, etc. Also, the Universe is absolutely on our side! Why would IT have created such an amazing planet full of water, trees, weed, etcetera if IT didn’t want us to be happy? Truly, BIG things are happening, and will continue to happen—that’s my prediction. Take it to the bank! So perhaps, the best choice is both—live like today was your last and love your planet like it is about to do great BIG things. This way, no matter what happens, you were right. Hope your next year is blessed out the keister!!
