Rick Chandler’s horse is not afraid of the busy roads of West Buncombe.
By Matt Tate Te weathermen advised anyone
who did not have to travel in their cars to stay at home during the most recent blast of winter weather. Tey did not say anything about
horses, however. Rick Chandler was out in the snow and cold weather with his Ten-
nessee Walker horse, Regalo, riding through Leicester Landing shopping center. “I am out letting him get his exer-
cise,” said Chandler. Chandler, who lives on nearby
Brickyard Road, said he often rides his horse on Leicester Highway and Patton Avenue, getting quite a bit of attention everywhere they go.
Regalo is an 8-year-old stud horse
that Chandler got four months ago. “He is a very smart horse. I’ve
been around horses all my life and I knew right away he had potential. Te former owner practically gave him to me because he didn’t see in him what I did. My girlfriend named him Regalo which is Spanish for gift,” said Chandler.
