Boy Scouts learn governmental process

Woodfin Planning and Zoning Board approved a 50-unit single family development near Crest Mountain called The Orchards. Aldermen will look to approve developer Reece Lasher’s latest project in January.

ing of former Woodfin Mayor Jack Penland. Penland, 93, also served as a town alderman. He operated Penland Garage Exxon
with his brother Arnold. He re- tired from Carolina Auto Parts at age 88. His funeral service will be held Thursday (Dec. 23) at West Funeral Home.
