A festive year for North Buncombe Join the YMCA of WNC weekend of January 7th, North Buncombe once again
hosted its share of festivies in 2010. Weaverville was the site for the
statewide Arbor Day celebration in the spring. Relay for Life participants again
had a good time while raising mon- ey for a good cause. A Fourth of July celebration re-
turned to Weaverville after a year’s absence, and parties were held at North Buncombe High School, Beech and Barnardsville as well. Woodfin held a community night
and its annual Labor Day picnic. Art in Autumn again packed the
streets of Weaverville with talented vendors.
Prom was the highlight of the
spring social calendar at North Buncombe High School, while the Homecoming parade topped the fall agenda. Te elementary schools ushered in
fall with a festival as well. Weaver- ville Elementary School also held its annual recognition of area veterans.
