The Defence Dental Services (DDS) is a tri-Service organisation within the Ministry of Defence (MOD) employing approximately 1085 personnel from the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force and Civil Service as Dentists, Hygienists, Technicians (military only) and Dental Nurses.

We have a number of MOD Dental Centres throughout the UK and overseas. We employ Civilian Dental Practitioners in various locations in Germany and the UK and Civilian Hygienists and Dental Nurses in the UK. We always welcome enquiries from Dentists, Hygienists and Dental Nurses who are interested in joining one of our teams in one of our many locations.

We are currently about to launch a new initiative to employ Civilian Dental Nurse trainees and would welcome enquiries from any one interested in Dental Nursing as a career.

We will also be employing Civilian Dental Therapists and would welcome enquiries from anyone suitably qualified who would be interested in working for the DDS in the future.

There are many benefits of being a civilian employee within the DDS, including the right to join a premium or partnership pension scheme or if a dental nurse or hygienist the NHS pension scheme. Further benefits include a generous annual leave entitlement plus public and privilege holidays, travel and subsistence costs, transfer costs when transferring post and various overseas allowances for overseas posts. In order to help with personal development we offer internal training, and an allowance towards the cost of external training may also be available.

For more information please phone: Laura on 01296 656852 or Rachal on 01296 656813

The Ministry of Defence is an Equal Opportunities employer and seeks to reflect the diverse community it Serves. Enquiries are welcome from anyone who meets the stated requirements. Please note: for posts in Northern Ireland enquiries from the Roman Catholic community are particularly welcomed as this group is currently under-represented in our workforce.
