Yoga Studios Celebrate 4th Annual Free Day of Yoga


his Labor Day, Monday, September 6, the yoga studios throughout the Dallas/Fort


Worth area will open their doors to offer free classes as part of the 4th Annual Free Day of Yoga. From sunrise to sunset, studios across the Metroplex will participate as a way to welcome people of every age and fitness level to try yoga for the first time, experience a new style of yoga or share yoga with family and friends. Classes will be held in studios, parks and other venues throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Since the event’s inception in 2007, more than 9,000 students have joined in the Free Day of Yoga to experience the physical, spiritual, emotional and mental benefits of practicing yoga.


“The event spans the whole Metroplex and includes


large and small studios specializing in all types of yoga,” says Michelle Mock, head of the DFW Free Day of Yoga volunteer organizing committee. “We hope it will be an opportunity for people to experience the benefits of yoga and see why it is still as valuable today as it has been for thousands of years.” The Free Day of Yoga concept started in 1999 in Aus-
