Area WWII veterans visit memorial
On May 15, three more World
War II veterans from the area, along with others from West- ern North Carolina, traveled to Washington, D.C., on a char- tered jet to tour various sites, in- cluding their memorial and Ar- lington National Cemetery, on an Honor Air f light. The Weav- erville Rotary Club sponsored area veterans Lee Arnold, Frank Cloninger and Herman Wilson. Funds for the veterans spon-
sored were from the club’s f lag program. The club thanks the various businesses, groups and individuals whose 2010 spon- sorship of the f lags make this program possible.
