re-focused effort to build a team around the athletes’ strengths will culminate Friday (May 21) for the North Buncombe High School track team as it competes in the state meet in Greensboro. The athlete-centered training
model that the current coach- ing staff helped craft develops training methods geared to the athletes rather than making the athletes fit a particular style. The cross-country team fin- ished fifth in the state last fall and this spring’s track squad is aiming for similar, if not great- er, heights. The BlackHawk girls won the
