WOW! Boot Camp for Women
Beginner Focused. Results Driven. Having Fun. Changing Lives!
T
rying out a new fitness program can be a daunting experience. It can be especially intimidating if you’re in that “beginner to average” fitness level and feel out of place at the gym, in exercise classes, or in traditional “one-size-fits-all”
fitness bootcamps that try to serve “all fitness levels.” Women may consider themselves to be in the “beginner to average” category
for any number of reasons: maybe they haven’t worked out for a long while and have lost muscle strength, tone, and endurance; perhaps they’ve gained 12-50 pounds or more for various reasons, such as life- stress situations or a recent pregnancy; or maybe they’re recovering from injuries that have prevented them from being able to get and stay in shape. The above scenarios are very
common – in fact, the majority of women in the fitness marketplace fit right into this level of beginner to average. Since 2008, WOW! Beginner Bootcamps for Women has been helping women just like this get fit
with its motivating program, designed to give women the support, encouragement, and accountability they need from other women just like themselves. Owner Rob Lloyd, a Certified Corporate Wellness Coach and innovative
leader of nationally expanding WOW! Bootcamps, saw the need for a program to help this underserved market. “WOW! Bootcamps has been designed to mentor and motivate, allowing you to start where you are and progress at your own pace, while still realizing significant results,” Lloyd says. “Clients can expect to lose up to 12 inches and 10 pounds at WOW! Bootcamps while gaining strength, muscle tone, and increased energy. Over 50 percent of our clients repeat month after month.” The program uses nationally certified and accredited coaches to conduct their classes. “WOW! Bootcamps is a life-transformation company, not just a fitness
company. We’re not trying to be all things to all people because the reality is you simply can’t properly serve women in vastly different fitness levels with the exact same program. We understand our client’s needs and have developed a program that helps them feel like they ‘fit in’ from day one, while delivering significant results through support, motivation, and fun. Each WOW! Bootcamp is 4-weeks long, three days per week – all equipment
is provided. The team works out together in a circuit (as opposed to “follow the trainer”) approach, which creates great group energy while still allowing participants to feel comfortable. “We don’t use the ‘follow-the-trainer’ approach you find
other bootcamp and exercise classes using because this inevitably leaves some participants feeling inadequate or uncomfortable if they can’t keep up – which can be very de-motivating,” says Lloyd. “If you want women to stick with their program – they have to feel like they fit in and are truly part of a team that supports them.

unique approach includes giving participants a choice of up to three difficulty levels at each station – another way to let women “start where they are” and progress at their own pace. To create variety, the circuit is never the same, so participants are given on-line access to videos of upcoming routines. “The videos are yet another client-centered support tool. They help alleviate anxiety by allowing bootcamp participants to view routines before class to see the proper form and choose which difficulty level they want to try that day – it’s definitely a unique approach and very well received,” Lloyd says.
WOW! Bootcamps are conducted at parks, beaches and on-site at Corporations, Churches and Group Events (such as Tennis Teams and Bridal Parties) around Jacksonville, and classes are held both mornings and evenings to accommodate clients’ busy schedules.
