beloved hunter, Small Town, passed away due to complications from colic during the HITS Desert Circuit, after earn- ing champion honors just two weeks prior. The 1996 Hanoverian gelding (Espri—Goesta) was born in Germany and imported by Mike Endicott in 2004. Under the early training of Mike Henaghan, who also worked with the horse later in his career as a Junior Hunter, Small Town was piloted to championships in the Pre-Green Hunters with John French in the tack, earned top honors in the Zone 10 Green Conformation division with Erin Duffy aboard and Keri Kampsen won numerous tri-colors competing in the Regular Working Hunters. During his outstanding career, Small Town’s winning personality and desire to perform won him the hearts of riders

status, earning championships in the Large Junior Hunter divisions at shows such as Washington International, Menlo Charity Horse Show, Blenheim EquiSports Shows, The National Horse Show, as well as at many other venues. This past summer, the showy chestnut laid down a veteran performance, clenching the Grand and Large Junior Hunter Champion at the 2009 West Coast Junior Hunter Finals with wins in both the handy and classic rounds. Additionally, this unbeliev- able horse was named the 2008 USEF Large Junior Hunter Horse of the Year.
