locating her first training business at Edgewood Equestrian facility in the beautiful Marin county hills just north of San Francisco. This decision is the next natural step for this young lady following tremendously successful Junior and Amateur careers showing up and down the east coast. Born into an equestrian family, she

started riding at a local farm with Peg Wallace, almost before she could walk. From there Bibby Farmer Hill, who worked for Erin's father Don Stew- art, taught her on her way up through the Short Stirrup and Pony rings. Af- ter the ponies, she found herself with Scott Hofstetter, another Don Stew- art assistant, where the Children's and Equitation rings were introduced. As she got older and moved on with

her riding and into the upper ranks, Don had outside trainers help her (in conjunction with him) so that some- one other than himself was giving the instructions! Bill Cooney, Michele Grubb, Mark Leone, Mclain Ward, Karen Healey, Leslie Howard, and Emil Spadone have all helped with

for me to get to ride, and I learned to listen-to people and to horses." The horses that came along the way

to be her competition partners are certainly impressive. Among those special horses were Hilton, Dance Away, Gizby, Gladiator, 007, Karat, Gia, Contendress, Rodrigo, Devito, Confidential and Quality Time. In- terestingly, she considers her special wins as The Best Child Rider WIHS 2001 and 2002, Grand Champion Ju- nior Hunter WIHS and The National Horse Show 2001, Grand Champion Junior Hunter Devon 2001, ASPCA Maclay Finals Winner 2002, Gold Medal Prix de States 2002. Quite a list of credentials for this

young lady, but just who is she and what does she think? She is twenty six years old, the oldest

of three children for Don and Nancy Stewart. Her brother Don Stewart III is twenty one, sister Whitney is six- teen and in school

did put a little pressure on me as a Junior in the ring because he is such a well known professional. But it was not pressure from him, it was only from myself. I always wanted to make the horses look and do their best. It was however, a great way
