WELCOME
Welcome to Aerospace Testing Expo 2010, Europe’s leading meeting place for the aerospace test engineering community
Your attendance here today will provide you with an extremely time-efficient way to keep up to date with the latest innovations and solutions from across the market, connecting you with the
most comprehensive source of industry expertise within aerospace testing.
Seminar programme
The focus this year is on increasing the level of information available to you during your visit to the show, especially as we understand you have limited time to spare within your busy work schedule. Beyond the usual array of exhibitors for you to meet, the 2010 event will once again host a free programme of over 60 technical seminars covering a wide range of testing disciplines. We welcome speakers from organisations including Airbus, BAE Systems, EADS, DLR, the Society of Flight Test Engineers and a host of other innovative companies, each of which will provide you with a rich source of new ideas and techniques which you can take back to your workplace to help improve and streamline your own operations.
Over the three days, sessions are grouped into key subject areas, including structural testing,

engine testing, aerodynamics, NDT, avionics, telemetry, materials and composites engineering, data acquisition and sensor technology, ground testing, design engineering and modelling & simulation. Each half day programme is backed by a dedicated “technology trail” highlighting exhibitors around the Expo who provide solutions that match each key subject, helping you to quickly locate the content and suppliers that can provide the right solution to meet your needs.
Career development
Concluding the exhibition, there will also be a career and development day on May 20th, providing a selection of workshops and presentations from industry representatives, including Airbus, to help you further your engineering career. We also welcome the winner of the Young Aerospace Engineer of the Year award who will be presenting an overview of their winning project as part of this career forum.
Static displays
Also, during your stay with us, don’t forget to visit the Special Feature Zone on the lower level of Hall B4 where both the Bundeswehr WTD 61 & the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences will be presenting a number of static displays. These
include the Aladdin UAV, an ejection seat, an air-to- air-refuelling basket, the BWB AC 20.30 (a blended wing body model, in scale 1:30) and the first Space interior of an ARV –Advanced Re-Entry Vehicle. Despite the economic challenges, we are proud to remain the focal point for the aerospace testing community within Europe, with over 125 leading suppliers on hand to help you here in Hamburg. I would urge you to make the most of your visit by using the Expo to make new contacts, develop existing relationships, and to capitalise upon the free knowledge and insight on offer to ensure your business remains competitive over the next 12 months.
On behalf of the Aerospace Testing Expo team, I would like to wish you a successful, productive and enjoyable show.
Kind regards
Jonathan Heastie
