MEETING TODAY’S DEMANDS

Portable & Handy USB Test Tools for MIL-STD-1553, ARINC429, and AFDX/ ARINC664 Avionic Busses / Networks

Avionics engineers today demand small, handy and mobile test solutions for avionics databus test, analysis, diagnostics and recording of MIL- STD-1553, ARINC429 and AFDX/ ARINC664 databusses and networks. To meet such demands AIM is now delivering its small and handy USB (Universal Serial Bus) products for such applications. The all new USB based APU429-x APU1553-x and APU-FDX-x USB products are elegantly packaged in pocket sized boxes that easily connect to any PC via the USB ports. The industry standard USB2.0 interface provides a high-speed connection between the APU429-x, APU1553-x and APU-FDX-x boxes and host computer feeding the supply voltage with no need for an external power adapter. A ‘Hot Plug’ capability is incorporated.

Since USB2.0 connections are available on almost any computer system, test engineers no longer have to dedicate a specific host computer for their MIL-STD-1553, ARINC429 or AFDX/ ARINC664 requirements.

The USB box family comes with all the reliability, quality and high performance functions & features AIM customers have come to expect in one handy sized box.

The APU1553-x is offered with one or two dual redundant MIL-STD-1553 streams and for ARINC429 applications the APU429-x is offered with 4, 8 or 16 channels. For AFDX/ ARINC664 usage the APU-FDX-x is offered with two ports and a version available to support Boeing B787 specific extensions.

An onboard high-precision ‘free wheeling’ IRIG- B time encoder / decoder allows users to accurately synchronise single or multiple APU1553-x, APU429-x and APU-FDX-x boxes to a common time source. For the APU1553-x and APU429-x, both provide additionally 8 bi-directional discrete I/O signals for monitoring or generation.
