Tere were other things, of course, that we loved about Tailand. Te food was amazing. Yes, it was spicy but it was also sweet, sour, salty, crunchy and delicious; often times all in the same dish. When I felt a little homesick and Tai food had lost its magic, McDonald’s had a delivery service; the total bill was 120 baht ($3.40). With two incomes we could afford a weekly maid, and Bangkok was a hub for international travel. We saw 13 countries in two years.

After two years though, family and friends won out. Kristin and I decided it was time to come home. She was able to find a job at Glenbard North. Luckily, Benet had an opening and Mr. Marth, Mr. Brown, and Mr. Noel still read my e-mails. Being a freshman for the third time at Benet was much easier than the first two times.

Welcome home.
