A message from the Captains.

It is very exciting that, coinciding with the start of our

year in office, Royal Liverpool has been announced as the venue for the RICOH Women’s British Open to be staged in 2012, the British Boys’ Championship in 2013, the Open Championship in 2014, and that this year we are hosting the Brabazon. To be asked to stage these prestigious events is a great honour for the Club and one that will be relished with great enthusiasm. We also look forward this year to welcoming many friends,

old and new, who will be visiting our famous links from all over the world. I am sure that they will enjoy testing their golf on our course and following in the footsteps of some renowned professional golfers! The Club House displays a magnificent collection of

trophies, medals, paintings and other golfing memorabilia, and we are sure that these will be of great interest to our visitors. A new addition this spring will be an historical timeline in the Golfers’ Entrance. We would like to thank our Heritage Committee for their continued research in identifying Hoylake memorabilia. On behalf of the Club, may we take this opportunity to

thank all those who have contributed to this publication. We thank them for giving their valuable time in researching and producing such excellent articles. We would also like to express a huge thank you to all the advertisers. We are conscious that the economic climate is still difficult so their

support is even more appreciated. Company Day will take place on Friday 3rd September and the Club looks forward to meeting the various teams for a very enjoyable day’s golf. Special thanks must be recorded to two of our Members,

Mark Gorton and Duncan Frazer, for the editing and production of this publication. We encourage visitors to take a copy of this brochure away

with them and hope that it will provide them with a souvenir of their visit to Hoylake. We would also like to use this brochure to wish our Members a very enjoyable year of golf, both at home and away, and to thank them most sincerely for giving us the honour to serve them as Captain and RLLGC Captain of this great Club. With best wishes to all for 2010.
