Safeguard Europe Ltd have updated their basement waterproofing seminars to reflect recent changes in BS8102, the code of practice for protection of below ground structures against water from the ground. It is the first time the standard has been updated since 1990. Safeguard currently provide two RIBA approved, core curriculum CPD seminars on the subject of basement waterproofing: Waterproofing Existing Basements; Waterproofing Basements and Underground Structures (Newbuild). Both seminars are offered free-of-charge to architectural practices and similar organisations on the UK mainland.

Guidance on the “Design opportunities in composite rainscreen technology” is now available to specifiers and construction industry professionals in a RIBA-approved CPD from global cladding manufacturer Steni. The hour-long presentation defines composite materials, specifically fibre reinforced polymers (FRP), and talks specifiers through the environmental issues, fixing options, material properties, manufacturing process, and textures, colours and shapes, giving more than a dozen stunning reference projects. Steni’s CPD reveals how composites were developed to be lightweight but strong and corrosion-resistant materials.
