Stephens of Arden; two sons, Michael
Stephens (Dana) and Greg Stephens
(Deana) both of Marshall; six grand-
children, three great grandchildren,
one step great grandchild and special
friend, Gordon “Runt” Hensley.
Funeral services will be held at
3 pm on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009,
in the Chapel of Madison Funeral
Home with the Rev. Manson Warren
officiating. Interment will follow in
Bowman-Rector Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from
1 pm to 3 pm prior to the service at
the funeral home.

Asheville - Della “Marie” Mae
Roberts Shook, 67, of 150 Elida Home
Road, passed
away Monday,
Oct. 19, 2009,
at her residence.
She was a na-
tive of Madison
County and the
daughter of the
late Clyde M
and Cora Mae
Reed Edwards.
She is also pre-
ceded in death by her husband Rob-
ert Shook and brothers, Elmer and
Ronnie Edwards.
Della is survived by her daughter
Betty Ann McDade of Spartanburg,
SC; son Robert Del Shook of Cleve-
land Tenn.; sister Shirley Taylor of
Candler; brother Wesley Charles
Edwards of Kansas City, Mo.; grand-
children, Thomas Arthur McDade,
Jr., Matthew Anthony McDade and
Clint Sayles.
A celebration of life will be held
at 2 pm on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, in
Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of
Blue Ridge Funeral Service. The Rev.
Eb Jenkins will officiate. The family
will receive friends from 1 pm - 2 pm
prior to the service and at other times
the family will be at the home of Shir-
ley Taylor, 67 Conner Rd., Candler,
NC.
