Bryson strives to
preserve small-town feel

A resident of Woodfin for all her
71 years, Jackie Bryson believes
strongly that the town needs to
maintain a small-town quality of
life while providing municipal ser-
vices at a low tax rate.
She cited the recently passed dark
sky ordinance as a measure that pre-
serves community standards that
the rest of the area can follow.
“We have taken pro-active steps
to preserve the quality of life for our
citizens and enhance community
life,” she said.
Bryson, who joined the board in
2008 and is running unopposed
for her seat in the Nov. 3 election,
believes the town’s parks system is
a major selling point for Woodfin
and hopes future development of
sidewalks and walkable trails will
connect the community further.
“Our parks are such an impor-
tant part of our community,” she
said. “It is such a delight to see
how many people they are serving.”
